A must have for Jira users

I had been looking for a Jira Mac client for months and there simply wasnt anything. Ive only discovered Bee only yesterday and I already fell in love with it. I sleek, fast, pretty, powerful and does what I need to do. I love the push notifications of issue updates! Man, bring this to the iPad!

Clean, stable, and a fresh approach to issue management

I use Bee to manage issues on many GitHub repositories. The interface is refreshingly clean, doesn’t get in your way, and does away with many of the complexities that make traditional issue managment a chore. Basil is also a very dedicated developer and is responsive to any feedback. Highly recommended!

Great

Love the jira / github support , clean interface , great notification system. If it had Phabricator support this would be a 5 star review.

Great Product

I have only be using Bee for a couple of days, but I’m already seeing significant improvement in my productivity. It’s a must if you have to juggle between multiple Jira accounts. Keep up the great work!

Great!

Would be nice if you could add/edit JIRA sprints in the app instead of having to edit on the web every time but provides just about every other feature I would need from an issue tracker.

Very good

I feel like I owe them the write review, app is constantly updating, very good support and help very much working with very very slow web JIRA. Thanks for hard work!

Time Sheet Report

Good program, but still not added Time Sheet Report:( Redmine is not supported:( That is very sad …

Plagued by Sync Problems

Let me first say that I love this app. I got thrown into a JIRA team a few years ago and this app saved my life. I couldn’t make heads or tails of the JIRA web interface but Bee let me organize the information the way I wanted to see it. Now, for the bad part. I’m now running a JIRA Cloud team of my own and there’s not a day that goes by I don’t run into some sort of sync related issue. Most of the time it’s an issue in Bee that was moved or alterered in some way via the JIRA web interface and Bee simply can’t sync properly to get the updates. In all the cases, the only official action is to try and "Syncronize the Current List" of “Refresh Item” but neither one of these works that often. Because of this, I run into duplicates, issues that are no longer in a particular project because they have been moved, or the dreaded "The connection to the ‘Project ABC service was interrupted. Please try again” error. I really want this app to succeed but the sync issues are about to drive me batty.

Great tool for developers

Handles the basics for developers really well. Define a group of issues you care about with a smart group; create new issues with a global hotkey on your mac; Look through the issues on your todo list without the lag of the JIRA web UI; Search issues live as you type the key or name; submit time tracking data by hitting start and stop in your menu bar. It cant do everything the web UI can do - if youre a product manager who spends most of your day in JIRA shuffling tickets between sprints this wont totally fill your needs (at least not yet). But if youre a developer mostly interested in lining up what the immediate next steps are, this is great. Especially since you can track your personal tasks with local notes and your open source stuff with github issues from the same app. I reported a few bugs as I was checking it out and got an email response about them within a few hours and saw a new release was pushed out with fixes for most of them, which is pretty awesome. It is obvious the developer is committed to and excited about the app. If you find there is something missing for your use case definitely hit the Help -> Send Feedback link and tell him about it. Youll likely hear back promptly.

Keeps getting better

I’ve been really impressed with Bee and the developer keeps making it better. He’s been very responsive to support requests, bug reports and feature requests. This new version 1.1 addresses a few of the issues I had with some of the older versions. This is an app I keep open all day long and use constanty. It’s really nice to be able to get notifications on new or updated issues/tickets and be able to respond right there. It helps me to appear like I’m much more on top of what is happening at work and on several OSS projects I’m involved with. It’s a great app now and it’s only going to get better. A huge timesaver.

Excellent Tool

UPDATE Using the app every day, impressed with the authors regular updates. The only thing I would request at this point is to sync accounts via iCloud, or at least via export / import. I just switched to a new macbook for my day to day work and migrating my accounts in Bee is a bit of a pain. Otherwise, awesome. Just awesome. I’m glad I bought this app, I really am. The interface is clean and simple and it instantly sped up my workflow. I use GitHub, Fogbugz and Jira, and just to be able to put them all into one well thought out and efficient design is amazing. I’d be happy with it if it worked for any one of those alone. Great tool, worth every dime.

Native. Beautiful. Fast. Solid. Awesome.

If you live in JIRA, you need this app. There’s no comparison with Java based heavy desktop clients that need weird plugins to your JIRA instance to work. This just worked out of the box for me, being hosted with JIRA OnDemand. I would seriously pay multiple times the app’s asking price, b/c I’m no longer waiting for JIRA web pages to load or looking at a web interface to do a client app’s job. As a developer myself, I appreciate craftsmanship. The Bee App is really elegant. It’s minimalist and responsive. But don’t be fooled by the sparse, clean design. I wanted JIRA identifiers to show up in my list, so I customized the display to include those too. You’ve got power in your hands. It’s never crashed on me, and the developer is responsive with support. That all inspired me to leave a review. With so many apps on the App Store and so many promises made, it’s hard to find quality. Folks, this is quality. I can’t wait to hook it up to FogBugz when I need to oversee a support queue and I haven’t even tried the Github integration yet. All in all, a fantastic tool. Please keep updates and new features coming. This Bee App is a homerun.

MUST HAVE FOR DEVELOPERS

This amazing app has made me more productive in the work environment. I have used this app for going on 3 months now and I can honestly say that I have never closed it once. The developer has been more then responsive but is always fixing bugs and adding more features. If any of you are using Github, JIRA, FogBugz, then this is an app that you must have. I would more then happily pay more then what the developer is asking. I think one of the best parts of Bee is the fact that you only have to learn one simple interface and are instantly connected with multiple sources. Learning to get around in JIRA, Github, or FogBugz took time in itself but now having Bee. I know how the app works I know exactly where I want to be all in a easy to use interface. Lets not forget about the time tracking, which is crucial when working on anything. THIS IS A MUST HAVE!

Been great

Really has helped alot with tracking time and just a better workflow then trying to figure out what browser my JIRA is in.

Love It!

Bee is great for accessing all my JIRA issues. The timer is also great for tracking the amount of time I spent on each issue, instead of having to estimate. I think that Bee is a must for every JIRA user on the Mac.

Extremely helpful

This app has seen constant daily use since I started my trial. It has improved my time tracking exponentially and that alone is worth the price.

Fantastic Supplement to my Workflow

I have been using Bee for some time now and it has become one of my favorite additions to my workflow. While there are some features I would like to have added so I never need to return for non-administrative tasks to the FogBugz website, Bee does almost everything else I need. When I first started using the application last year I was toying with the idea of FogBugz being a workflow addition since my small team and I (me and one other guy) don’t need much and paid account in other services such as Jira didn’t mesh with our bootstrapped model well. The integration of Bee with FogBugs made it much simpler for me to track progress on outstanding items, add new issues as I discovered them and sign-off when completed. I can’t recommend this app enough. It’s a solid part of my everyday.

App makes JIRA bearable

App makes using JIRA bearable. Developer fixed the crash I was experiencing, he’s very responsive.

Amaaaaaazing!

Bee makes it so much easier to organize tasks / issues on platforms like github and jira. I can’t live without it anymore. Great job, developers!

For Jira at least it’s ‘Meh’

Really had high hopes for Bee as I’m really frustrated with the standard Jira web interface. Unfortunately for my use it’s just not that great yet - has lots of potential, but just not there. Here are the things I’d like, but were missing or not quite what I hoped. Seems like its more suited to a developer or someone that has issues assigned to them as opposed to someone who has to manage a large set of issues (me). * I’d like to be able to click through on labels, sprints & components in issues and have it bring up all the list of tickets appropriate for those items. * A view of all the Epics in the an aglie project and ability to filter tickets on them (kinda like in the web view) * The list of issues for a project or scrum is too widely spaced, this means you can’t fit that many onto a page
